Harvest tablescapes for your home
Hello Friends! I’ve been so busy with family issues, family (in general,) work…I hired a new design assistant/executive office manager, WELCOME Trish! Wait not done yet…existing clients that need to be completed (this is an oxy-moron in design, it’s never done.) and new clients in need of dire help and are “visual.” (This means I need to render room elevations so they can get a good idea of what the final outcome will look like.)
I thought since I’m freaking out over Thanksgiving around the corner and wondering if I can get away with keeping the Halloween decor out, this would be a good time to discuss Tablescapes for the ever creeping up – Thanksgiving day!!
Country Tablescapes:
This photo clearly shows a not so serious tablescape you can easily make yourself at a low cost and in not much time. White candles take over the table with letters spelling out Thanksgiving in craft paper wrapped and taped. Purchase or cut out the fall colored leaves scattered all over the table. Your guests will love this Country casual table design.
Casual Elegance with Bright colors, velvet napkins and chocolate leaves…unexpected and so memorable.
Easy, casual and fun tablescape.
Traditional tablescapes:

This tablescape put a smile on my face. It’s so simple yet so elegant. Timeless comes to mind too. I love the acorns on the plates and searched high and low for these…I found them in brown on a few sites. I love the silver and gold and would also add a bow or two…spray paint is the way to go!
Lots of flowers, stuffed pheasant (see photo) breathtaking screen, garland and my favorite item (that has nothing to do with the tablescape) the chair with the sexy tiger fabric!!
Buffet style dinner? Love this look. Take note of the different levels used in the design; simple candlesticks with candles, silver containers and the berry spray.
Modern Tablescapes:

Modern scaping is all about clean, not simple so much (or all together) that would be transitional. This scape features all glass with light-colored branches on the glass table top. Simply beautiful.
The Turkey coordinates with the branches…these things are very important to the modernista!
This is fantastic…monochromatic design tablescape with whites, greens and silver contrasting the dark espresso table top. I love the small pine bush and candles sticks that are holding decorative balls in lieu of candles.
Transitional tablescapes:

Transitional design is clean, elegant and sophisticated. The tables will have well thought out centerpieces with a dramatic effect and not much fluff.
This design is borderline modern. The chairs keep it grounded and I’ll stand by a transitional feel.
A few items for your table designs and where to buy:

I really could continue to add more items but you get the idea and hey…I’m always here for any questions!! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Fairytale Furniture
If you had a dream piece of furniture what would it be?
I have visions of a round bed hanging from my ceiling with a dome of stars above … Family Room Chairs with Louis Vuitton Damier print on the body and a cashmere red floral on the cushions…Leopard accent pillows to finish the look. How about a piece of artwork signed by unattainable humans in bubble gum pink, turquoise, red…and I’m not talking about Sting. Think bigger.

I never stop dreaming about design, my designs, my client’s designs, should you? I think this is food for thought and a great way to share funky ideas, design dreams or even basic fun design. (Is there such a thing?)
Don’t over think your decisions or you won’t finish them! Go with your gut and don’t be afraid to dream big!! Explore auctions, used furniture stores, antique shops. See the piece that caught your eye in a lacquered finish, metals, wood tones…use your imagination and run with it.
Live happily ever after!!

Everything in moderation … even Interior Design? NO WAY!!
Seriously folks…do we need to draw inside the lines with design? Does “moderation” apply to our imaginations? I was asked to prepare a Bio today and one of the questions was, “what inspires you?” I could have gone on and on and unfortunately, after I submitted the form I continued to think of things that inspires me to design…Moderation wasn’t one of them. My advice: Don’t be afraid!! Do you love Orange but too nervous to use it? How about Purple, Turquoise, Hot Pink!! I’ve posted a few room-views that I hope will give you a push to ask me some questions or just move forward, face your fears and throw your moderate design ideas out the window for some fun, over-the-top, exciting rooms!!
